WHERE NEXT?
With the Frenchman Patrice Evra set to leave Old Trafford at the end of season, Manchester United are searching around for a replacement and reports are emerging suggesting that the English club are interested in signing the 22 years old Brazilian defender Alex Sandro.
Sandro made his move to Porto from Santos back in 2011 for a transfer fee believed to be around £8m. The Brazilian is the latest player in the wish-list of David Moyes who has also shown interest in signing Fabio Coentrao, Leighton Baines and Alberto Moreno as possible replacement of the 32 years old defender Patrice Evra.
PSG and Monaco are leading the race and are becoming the more plausible option for Patrice Evra as his next destination of his football career. Both of the clubs are believed to offer £150k-a-week hoping to lure him away from Manchester United and into their team by next summer.
The terms being offered by the mega-rich French clubs include a £5million signing-on fee, which would be spread over a four-year contract worth £31.2m. Monaco sold Patrice Evra to Manchester United for a transfer fee of £5.5m back in 2006 and now wants him back at the club.
The former Manchester United defender Laurent Blanc and current coach of PSG is confident that his side is confident they will win the battle and sign him despite having tough competition from Monaco. Unibet have PSG as the favourites to land Evra.
Patrice Evra’s current salary with Manchester United is reported to be £85,000-a-week but a move to either of the French clubs will see it increase to £150,000-a-week and make him transfer back to his native France but at this point his future remains unclear as 2 of the biggest French clubs are battling it out for the veteran defender.
