Ex-Manchester United and Juventus defender Patrice Evra has said that Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku made a big transfer mistake by returning to Chelsea from Inter Milan last summer. Patrice Evra made this known during an interview monitored by Italian publication Football Italia as he said that the Belgian international could have stayed at Inter after a strong season last term. Lukaku was the main man for manager Antonio Conte as Inter Milan ended their long wait for a league title last season. Patrice Evra while speaking further said that he’s not a fan of those criticising Lukaku and that they have a short memory as Lukaku was finding the back of the net regularly when he returned to Chelsea for his second spell at the club last summer. The Belgian international scored four goals in his first four games including a goal on his second Chelsea debut at the expense of Arsenal. He scored one of the goals in a 2-0 away win over the Gunners in what was the second league game of the season for the two London teams.
