Manchester United needs new players
Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra believes that Jose Mourinho might need to make new signings if they want to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool for the title. He said that the current team is not good enough to win the title and that there needs to be some addition before the closing of the transfer window.
Patrice Evra said that the team was far behind Manchester City last season and that he is afraid that they will fall behind even more this season. He said that Pep Guardiola has brought in some experienced players and that they will be difficult to stop this season. For this reason, he believes that Manchester United should sign in some world-class players to help them compete in this ever competitive league.
Patrice Evra said that even Liverpool has brought in some quality players and they may have overtaken Manchester United in terms of quality – with the arrivals of Allison, Keita and Shaquiri helping to make Liverpool one fo teh most sought in-demand clubs in the Premier League on 1st4Footballtickets, when it comes to match day ticket searches. He said that Jurgen Klopp knows what he is doing and has successfully addressed the issues that were so much evident last season. He said that Liverpool has a great team last season but they lacked strength in depth and the team suffered when the first team players were either injured or suspended.
He believes that things will be different this time around with the players that they have signed and that they will be the main challenger for the title behind Manchester City.
This is why he believes that Jose Mourinho should make sure that he sign some quality players before the start of the season to make sure that they do not fall further behind in the title race. He said that this will be a difficult Premier League season and that you will need to be really strong to win the title.
United have been linked repeatedly with Toby Alderweireld, but with a history of controversial transfers from Tottenham (including Bebatov and Carrick), any deal would have to eclipse the previous biggest for a defender, which was when Virgil van Dijk arrived at Anfield for £75m from Southampton.
