Patrice Evra’s senior playing career has seen him joining a total of 6 different clubs which includes : Marsala, Monza, Nice, As.Monaco, Manchester United and his current club Juventus.
It was with Manchester United where he managed to make a name for himself after helping the English club in lifting 5 Premier League titles and 1 Champions League as well as a few other major pieces of silverware.
During his time performing in England, Patrice Evra was consistenly named as one of the top performers as he was included in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year on numerous ocassions. Inter Milan’s major signing in the summer, Geoffrey Kondogbia, claims that he turned down the opportunity to move to the Premier league or to AC Milan in order to join Roberto Mancini’s team.
Kondogbia has signed for a mammoth transfer fee and it is a surprise that Inter have managed to sign him amidst interest from a number of other parties. One of the major factors appears to have been former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra, who had reportedly advisedKondogbia to join Inter Milan. Further, there was interest from rivals AC Milan – according to the player himself – but that was turned down even with a larger contract offer.
Both Milan clubs have struggled immensely in the last couple of years, but Inter’s situation is seen as being slightly better than that of AC Milan. Roberto Mancini failed to get the club even into the top six of the table despite massive investment in the January transfer window. He will hope to avoid the mistake of the same nature in the upcoming season. Failure to reach any form of European football would be catastrophic for the prestige of the club. Paul Pogba continues to attract the attention of all the major clubs from around the world. In these past few weeks, there have been offers being launched for the young Frenchman in the region of €50 million and it has even increased further than that as managers want to secure the services of Pogba into their respective squads.
The 22 year old French player Paul Pogba joined Juventus back in July of 2012 and Patrice Evra believes that the youngster needs to step it up as he still hasn’t made a true impact in the Italian outfit despite having joined the club over 3 years ago.
Patrice Evra told reporters: “The younger players must understand that Juve want to win, always.”Pogba wants to be decisive and I told him that he’s not a youngster anymore and has already been at Juve for four years. He has to provide the breakthrough during difficult games.”
Pogba is only 22 years old and he is already being hailed to be the new ZinedineZidane of France and the media is building up so much which has increased the value of the player. Patrice Evra was reaching an age where it was just too much for the Premier League outfit and Louis van Gaal wanted to replace the French defender with some younger figures, which is why Evra was offloaded to Juventus for a bargain price of €1.2 million in a transfer that was completed on July 21st of 2014.
So far it has been a successful transfer for Patrice Evra as the French defender has turned into a regular starter for MassimilianoAllegri at Juventus. During his debut season with the Italian club, Evra made 21 appearances and was also featured in the Champions League matches of his new club.

PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been banned for four matches after his comments appeared to insult French football.
The 33-year-old striker seemed to be extremely upset with the referee’s poor performance when Paris St Germain played against Bordeaux recently. He branded France as a country not worthy of playing top-level football by using derogatory terms. This cost a huge uproar in France and the disciplinary committee of the league has found the player guilty of trying to tarnish the reputation of the league. He has been given a four match ban, which will be a major blow to PSG’s hopes of retaining the league title.
The Swedish striker is one of the important players at the club. In his absence, Laurent Blanc will have to utilise Edinson Cavani as the striker but the Uruguayan has not scored the goals that have been required to keep PSG at the top of the table. Despite the season coming to a close with only a couple of weekends remaining, the French league is extremely close when it comes to the battle for the title. Paul Scholes has claimed that former French international Patrice Evra is one of the greatest fullbacks to have represented Manchester United. Evra came to United as January 2006 signing along with Nemanja Vidic.
Little did the Premier League know that these two players were to become key members of a United team that lifted several league titles along with one Champions League trophy. Even Scholes says that the United squad did not think Evra was good enough to play for a club like United, but after a few months of settling in, the French defender started to show his immense character.
